The First Step Is What Determines Your Second
A huge element to my everyday success is how I start my day.
And there’s a particular blueprint I follow that’s gotten me pretty much everything I have.
I found that if I follow this blueprint in the morning, my productivity shoots through the roof and I dominate any challenge the rest of the day.
Conversely, I also found that if I start my day like a bum that it’s more likely I spend the whole day acting like a bum.
And that’s how bad habits and patterns start.
So make sure you learn my ultimate morning routine and try it for yourself to see how it changes your life.
My Ultimate Morning Routine for Maximum Productivity
My day kicks off at 4:30 AM.
Yeah, you read that right.
It doesn't matter when I go to bed, could be 9:30, could even be midnight, but my ass is getting out of bed at 4:30 sharp no matter what.
Why? Because it instills discipline.
If I wake up tired, that's on me. I made my bed, now I gotta lie in it... except I don't lie in it. I get my ass up.
That's lesson one, accountability. Your day, your success, your failures, they're on you.
Now here’s a trick I use to help me get up that early.
I literally stuff my alarm clock into my robe, far enough away that I gotta get out of bed to shut it off.
It may sound crazy, but the biggest thing holding most people back in life is themselves.
But if you find ways to master self control and create constant motivation, you can get out of your own way.
The first thing I’ll do next is sit down and hammer out my goals for the day. It’s like a war plan. A war plan written on an iPad Mini...
After getting mentally wired, it's time to prep the body. Meditation comes first, 15 minutes to clear the head and get focused.
Then, it's workout time. Nothing crazy, just enough to wake me up fully and get the blood pumping. I suggest a quick HIIT workout or 5 minute jumprope session.
The Breakfast of Champions
Don’t get it twisted, this is the REAL breakfast of champions.
I start with sardines. Two cans, straight up.
High in protein, omega-3s, and with zero sugar to mess with my focus.
If you really can’t stomach sardines, you can try eggs, tuna, or avocado too.
Why? Efficiency. I need the best fuel in the least amount of time.
I'm not here to waste time cooking or cleaning. I eat, I learn (usually with some ESPN to keep up with sports), and then I'm on to conquering my day.
By 7 AM, when most people are just waking up, I'm hours into my grind. That's the difference. That's how you win.
After my champion’s breakfast of sardines and usually some black coffee, it's deep work time.
No distractions, just me pushing my limits until it's time to engage with my team.
Using Deep Work To Unlock 2x Productivity
From 7 AM onwards, I'm in beast mode. This is when I do my most important work, the kind that requires zero distractions and maximum focus. It's just me, my goals, and the relentless pursuit of success.
I call this my golden hours, not because of the time of day, but because this is when I'm literally turning time into gold.
I've got around 30 employees, and trust me, once they're up, my phone doesn't stop. So, I use these early hours for uninterrupted productivity. I'm talking about hardcore, focused work where I'm 100% in the zone.
During these hours it’s like being in a high speed chase with success, and I'm not taking my foot off the gas. I get more done in this time than most do all day.
I've found that this intense focus early in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. It builds momentum that carries me through, no matter what gets thrown my way. And trust me, in my line of work, you better be ready for anything.
Working Out Throughout The Day
I don’t just do a morning workout. I also I break my workouts into shorter, more intense sessions throughout the day.
This approach to working out, just like my approach to my morning routine, is all about optimization.
It's about making every minute, every action, count towards my ultimate goal of absolute domination in all aspects of life.
Try using a treadmill and standing desk to get cardio in while you work. Or set an alarm for every hour and do 30 pushups when the alarm goes off. The little things add up.
The Midday Review
By midday, I take a moment to review my progress.
This isn't about patting myself on the back for the morning's wins, it's a critical assessment of where I'm at versus where I need to be.
What goals have I smashed? What tasks are still outstanding? Where do I need to adjust my approach to stay on track?
This midday review is crucial. It's easy to start the day with a blaze of glory, but maintaining that intensity requires constant vigilance.
It's about staying honest with myself, identifying any complacency, and rectifying it immediately.
As the afternoon rolls in, I'm ready for my second surge of productivity.
This is where I tackle the tasks that require creativity and strategic thinking.
Because by this point, I've physically and mentally primed myself to operate at maximum efficiency. My body's energized, my mind's sharp, and I'm ready to solve problems and generate ideas that will push my businesses forward.
This part of my day is less about grinding through tasks and more about big-picture thinking.
Where is the industry heading? What new opportunities can I identify and capitalize on? How can I disrupt, innovate, and stay miles ahead of the competition?
This is the time for brainstorming sessions, strategic planning, and high-level decision-making.
The BMM Takeaway
My morning routine is my straight up manifesto for success.
It puts me on a path towards dominance every day from the first minute I’m awake.
And when you start to engrain that into your system and make it a part of your personality, serious change starts to take place.
Because of this routine I don’t waste a single day. I get more work done than others, and I get it done faster and more efficiently.
Try it out for yourself, but remember, it doesn’t need to be the same exact routine as mine.
But it needs to make you do something that you don’t want to do each day in order to build disincline.
That’s why those crazy dudes jump into ice water each morning. It proves to them that they can push past any mental barrier.
So find what works for you and stay disciplined and consistent with it each day.
