Asking Random Millionaires How They Got Rich

What’s one of the best ways to figure out HOW to become a millionaire?

It’s simple…just ASK millionaires what they do and then copy it.

Of course, if the millionaire in question happened to be born into wealth from the jump, that’s a different story that you can’t really replicate.

But you’d be surprised at just how feasible some of these paths to riches really are. Check out 3 of some of the most interesting success stories below for inspiration.

Making Millions With…Tanning?

We see this man sitting in a $400,000 Rolls-Royce when he reveals that he owns a franchise of 75 tanning spas, each bringing him several thousand dollars in passive income per month.

He also says that the most he had ever made in 1 year was multiple 7 figures, all without having to do any work.

After reading the book Great CEOs Are Lazy, he apparently learned how to be a “master delegator”, saying that if there’s someone who can do the work at least 70% as good as you that you should delegate the task to them.

So basically, he’s exhibiting boss behavior but being modest about it.

He also reveals a secret that he uses to ensure that the work he delegates gets done, and it’s by giving people on his team a stake in his businesses.

For example, he might start a company and pay someone in equity, pushing them to succeed for the sake of their own success, ensuring that both parties get mutual success.

I think the lesson we can learn here is to start a business and delegate as many tasks as possible, as well as involve and share your success with team members so you collectively benefit. Pretty genius stuff.

The Tried And True: Door To Door Sales

This next guy who was interviewed says he made all of his money from door to door sales over the past 13 years.

And while door to door sales can be grueling and require a thick skin, if you’re good with people and good at selling you can make a crap load of money doing it.

Some guys just have it. The charisma or talent needed in order to go from “who the hell are you” all the way to “where do I sign” in a matter of 5 minutes.

It’s very hard to learn, but if you can master the art of sales, then the sky is the limit for how much you can make.

That’s why those sales jobs on Indeed will say something like “$300,000/year salary” when in reality (if you’re lucky) you’ll get a base pay of $40k plus your commission (the 300k being the ‘potential’ commission).

But it’s true, if you somehow manage to go around a neighborhood and sell solar or home security (like this guy) for around $10k a pop, your commission will be around $2,000 each sale. All you have to do is convince someone to say “yes”. Easy enough, right?

Consulting: The Chillest Way To Millionaire Status

This last guy was nice enough to actually provide a little tour of his sweet mansion. As for how he afforded his $14,000,000 mansion, he says in the video below that he does consulting.

Consulting is the most awesome gig in the world. You literally just advise people like a wise sage.

In fact, an average consulting job can bring you around $200k/year, although the guy in this video most likely does private consulting, in which case he can charge whatever the hell he wants and make as much as he wants.

He also mentions that he owns several online businesses, which probably all generate several thousand dollars a month on autopilot too.

To get into consulting, you need to have proven yourself in all areas of your expertise so that you can show an impressive portfolio and track record of case studies proving that your knowledge can transform someone’s business.

Once you’ve done that, consulting is sort of like a reward or trophy for all your hard work, because now you can just teach how to do the work instead of actually doing the work.

The BMM Takeaway

Let these stories be an inspiration to you. While some of the paths to being a millionaire are more difficult than others, one thing’s for sure. There are a LOT of millionaires in the world.

We can see that just from searching these videos on TikTok and YouTube. You can run into these people just walking into a Starbucks.

That being said, you should open your mind to the possibility of becoming a millionaire. Tell yourself it’s no different than any other achievement and believe you can do it. 59 million other people did it.

(That’s right, there are 59 million millionaires in the world currently. How does THAT change your perspective?)

We can also see from these stories that most millionaires start their own business. You’ll rarely hear “I got promoted to XYZ”, but rather you’ll hear “I started my own business instead of going to college” 10x more frequently.

That’s not to say don’t go to college, but it is something to think about. Whatever your decision, just make sure you start making your OWN money instead of just working for someone else’s dream. That seems to be the common factor among all these highly successful people.

TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read)

  • Copy successful millionaires by focusing on delegation and equity-sharing in businesses, like owning a chain of 75 tanning spas that generate substantial passive income.

  • Explore unique avenues to wealth, such as a franchise of tanning spas, capable of yielding multiple seven-figure annual earnings.

  • Master door-to-door sales for high commissions, exemplified by earning $2,000 per $10,000 product, showcasing the potential in persuasive sales skills.

  • Capitalize on expertise through consulting and owning online businesses, leading to significant wealth as demonstrated by a consultant with a $14 million mansion.

  • Embrace entrepreneurship, often a more lucrative path than traditional careers, as evidenced by the trend of millionaires starting their own businesses rather than climbing corporate ladders.
