3 Easy Online Business Ideas For An Extra $1000/Month
Need an extra $1,000/month?
Then start an online business.
But don’t make it complicated and stressful with physical inventory, employees, or overhead.
Make an online business that’s ONLY run by you, doesn’t require you to buy and store piles of physical inventory, and also never requires you to even leave your house.
Those are the types of online businesses I run.
Not having inventory removes all the risk of buying merchandise and not being able to sell it.
Not having employees means you keep all the money.
And not leaving your house gives you more time and flexibility to work on your business.
Here are 3 easy online businesses you can get started doing today.
Become An Amazon Merch Seller
Difficulty: Stupid Easy
Imagine if all you had to do to have $1000/month automatically flowing into your bank account was design a t-shirt?
Well…that’s literally all you have to do with this business.
You can even just use Canva to make the t-shirt design (that’s what I did).
Because here’s how it works…Amazon will take your t-shirt design, they’ll print the shirts for you, AND they’ll fulfill the orders for you too.
It could be a funny t shirt with a recent meme (as long as it’s not infringing on any copyrights), a piece of artwork you did, or something else that’s relevant or popular.
You set your own price, and Amazon takes a small cut. That’s it. Now you’re selling a product that you own on the Amazon store.
Here are the steps:
Use Canva to create a design for a t-shirt, it doesn’t need to have a design for the back of the shirt
Sign up for Amazon Merch and read their current required specifications for the t shirt design file (PNG vs JPEG, file size, etc.)
Export your design and submit it to Amazon
Add relevant keywords for your shirt so people can find it in search results
This method is fool proof and anyone can do it. However, keep in mind to NOT use any copyrighted material.
Also, you won’t see many sales in your first month. In fact, you’ll probably get 0. It’s going to take time to start appearing in the search results. But once your design becomes popular you can make anywhere from $500 to $3000 per month on autopilot.
You can speed up that process by promoting your shirt on TikTok, Facebook, and just texting it to friends and having them click the link.
Most of all, try to be FIRST. As soon as you spot potential for a t-shirt, be the first one to make it. For example, in Stranger Things there’s that Hellfire Club t-shirt that the kids wear.
A couple days after that episode aired I already started seeing ads for knockoff hellfire club t-shirts on TikTok and people were buying them like hotcakes.
Start A Fiverr Seller Profile
Difficulty: Pretty Easy
Selling on Fiverr is a great way to make money from home with just a laptop.
Fiverr has SO many services that you can offer as a seller.
Do you produce music? You can create a gig for mixing songs or making beats.
Are you good with graphic design? You can just make logos for people all day and make serious money.
Hell, there are even gigs to help get people better at Fortnite. Like you legit get paid to play Fortnite with someone and teach them how to aim or build better.
So if you’re good at something that others need help with, search it on Fiverr and see if people are selling it already.
Here are the steps:
Start a Fiverr seller profile
Fill out your profile and start a gig
Make a professional looking gig thumbnail (think YouTube thumbnails)
Steal keywords by searching for your service and observing the autocomplete suggestions
Use those keywords in your gig description and as your tags
Set a low price at first (like $10) to build your rep and increase prices whenever you have active orders
Just make sure you answer people, complete the work on time, and do a good job. As long as you go hard and make an effort with Fiverr, it will reward you because it wants to keep customers on the site.
Affiliate Product Sales On TikTok
Difficulty: Medium
People are making CRAZY money on TikTok right now.
But it doesn’t have to involve you doing some stupid NPC live (even though the NPC style live streamers are making over $7k a stream)
AND you don’t have to get millions of followers either to make money.
All you’ll be doing is trying out household gadgets.
The most brilliant accounts I’ve seen on TikTok literally just film someone using kitchen gadgets and adding the label “TikTok made me buy it” or “best Amazon kitchen gadgets”.
People watch the video, they want the gadget, they click the link in the bio and they buy it.
Now, for this method you’ll have to actually research the top gadgets and then buy 1 of each gadget you want to sell so you can make content.
Or, sometimes there will be content you can already use provided by the seller, but not in most cases.
But once you’ve created the content, just post it each day consistently and drive people to the link in your bio.
The link will actually go to a landing page full of Amazon affiliate links, so whenever someone buys something you’ll get a commission from the sale.
Here are the steps:
Start a TikTok account with a name like “Best Amazon Finds” or something similar
Research and find 5 of the hottest products that are selling right now that you can also afford
Create an Amazon Associates Account so you can earn by selling others’ products
Purchase the products and create 10 TikTok videos for each product, making sure they’re no longer than 15 seconds each
Use a simple landing page builder like Carrd.co to host your affiliate product links
Put the link in your bio to send traffic to your site and generate sales
There is 1 caveat with this method though. In order to have a clickable link in your bio, you’ll need a business account with at least 1,000 followers. Anyone can start a business account, but the followers will take a bit of time.
Keep posting consistently and just use the non clickable link at first to build followers. You might get a few sales from people who copy and paste the URL, but this is mostly to get your followers up first.
Then, once you have the 1,000, people will be able to click through to your site more easily and buy your Amazon gadgets.
The BMM Takeaway
These businesses are easy to set up but will take a bit of waiting for sales to come in, so be patient.
Also, make sure to put away at least 15% of any money you make on your own for taxes.
Remember, this money isn’t having tax deducted from it like a normal W2 job, so you’ll need to put aside 15% as self employment tax out of everything you make.
Lastly, as for whether or not you need an LLC to run a business, you don’t. As soon as you start making money you’ll technically be classified as a sole proprietorship, and you can operate as a business that way.
Even if you don’t try one of these business ideas, try to find the common theme in all of them and apply it to your own ideas. Look for patterns in social media and behavior and try to strike first with a new business idea.
